AlexAlexandra Morgan Carrasco, an American professional soccer player, plays as a striker in the San Diego Wave FC (NWSL) which is the highest division of women's soccer in the United States. She also co-captained the United States women's soccer team from 2018 to 2020 alongside Megan Rapinoe as well as Carli Lloyd. [8][98][9] Morgan was selected by the Western New York Flash at the top of the list in the 2011 WPS Draft. She had completed her degree from Berkeley early. Morgan also played for California Golden Bears. Morgan made her professional debut at the time and played a major role in the team's win of the league title. Morgan aged 22 at the time was the youngest athlete in the national team at the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup, which the team finished second. In the 123rd minute of the semi-final clash against Canada at the 2012 London Olympics she scored the game-winning goal. She was the second player in the United States to score 20 goals and 21 assists in 2012. This made her the seventh-youngest and most prolific athlete in the world to achieve 20 goals in a single year. Following her selection as the U.S. Soccer Female Player of the year Morgan was also an FIFA World Player of the Award finalist. Morgan has also played a role in helping the United States win their titles at the 2015 and 2019 FIFA Women's World Cups, where she was named to the Dream Team for both tournaments in addition to winning the Silver Boot in 2019.
